Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' separation might have taken place in June 2012 but it still wouldn't stop rumors from haunting the 'Dawnson's Creek' actress. Despite her yearning to live a simple life with her daughter Suri, Holmes is still not an exception when it comes to rumors about her former husband's dating status.
Recently. Tom Cruise's girlfriend rumors surfaced with the 'Oblivion' actor being linked to 'Orange is the New Black' actress Laura Prepon. Like Cruise, Prepon similarly practices Scientology, the religion which Holmes refused to embrace completely.
In an interview with E! News, the 'Miss Meadows' star hinted about her tendencies to fight back when pushed too far: "I don't have a drawer full of weapons in my house if that's what you're asking, but I can be tough when I need to be."
"I'm an Ohio girl. Don't underestimate us," she added.
Following her divorce with the 'Top Gun' actor, Holmes decided to become a hands-on mother to Suri in New York City. She explains why she loves residing in the city: "I love New York and New Yorkers have really been so kind to myself and my little one, and I just appreciate it. There are so many moments that you have in this city that you connect with all different walks of life and it really means everything."
The mother and daughter recently celebrated Suri's 8th birthday by blowing a dozen of specialized birthday cupcakes from Sprinkles whose "freshly baked treats have inspired long lines of devoted Hollywood stars and serious epicureans alike."
Apart from the little fashionista's birthday, Holmes is also looking forward to Mother's Day, one of her favorite events: "I'm one of four girls, I've a bunch of aunts and cousins, so Mother's Day is a really big deal. My sisters and I are starting to figure out a plan for ourselves. It's fun, I always love Mother's Day."
