Hilary Duff divorce rumors continue to swirl and while it might be devastating for some, one guy is hoping and crossing his fingers that the 'Lizzie McGuire' actress will soon end her ties with Mike Comrie in a legal manner. That guy is Duff's former boyfriend, Aaron Carter.
Carter's feeling for Duff is clearly not puppy love because after all these years, the 26-year-old crooner still claimed to be in love with the mother of one. Apart from his previous tweets which publicized his feelings, the 'I'm All About You' singer also confessed to Rob Marciano in Entertainment Tonight.
"I don't know who she is today, she doesn't know who I am today, but I would sweep her off her feet if I ever got a chance to again and fix what I did wrong," he said.
Carter and Duff first met in 2001 on the set of 'Lizzie McGuire'. Their relationship blossomed but also ended in 2003 because of the 'I Want Candy' singer's "experimenting" with Lohan and Duff's best friend.
"I started dating Hilary on my 13th birthday. I was dating her for like a year-and-a-half and then I just got a little bored so I went and I started getting to know Lindsay, dating Lindsay. Then I didn't want to do that anymore, so I got back with Hilary. And then I ended up cheating on Hilary with her best friend. That's nothing to smile about. [Her friend] wasn't even that good looking either," he told 'The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch' in 2005.
He likewise refers to Duff as "the one that got away". However, up until now, the 'Material Girls' actress has not yet reacted to Carter's love proclamations. Nonetheless, this will not hinder Nick Carter's brother from trying to win her back.
"I'm going to do everything in my power to fix those relationships in my life just like I want to fix the relationship I had with the love of my life. I'm not gonna give up on Hilary ...ever," he said.
