'X-Men Days of Future Past' Cast Rumors: Cyclops To Return? Actor James Marsden Hints At Another Stint With The Mutant Team! With Time Travel, Anything Is Possible!

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" will feature an unprecedented festival of mutants past, present and even future. Cyclops was not in the roll call, but does that mean we'll never see him again? Actor James Marsden hints that maybe we have not seen the last of the optic blasts.

James Marsden talked to Crave Online for his new movie "Walk of Shame." The topic of playing Cyclops again was brought up. His full response:

"I've always been very proud of my role and it's out of my hands. It's nice to see Bryan [Singer] go back in and turn the boat a little bit. I'm happy for those that made it back. I'd like to. I get excited watching the trailers because I'm excited for the continuance of the X-Men world. I'm a fan of X-Men and I know it'll be a kick ass movie. I loved being a part of those movies. It was a great group of people. It was rare to get fans excited for a comic book movie, and do well at the box office with films that critics loved, too. I mean nobody doesn't like them."

One notable thing he mentioned was the return of Bryan Singer and the phrase "turning the boat a little bit." This was probably in reference to "X-Men: First Class" and how the old cast was totally kicked out. There is actually a chance that he HAS already made the return. From Vulture:

"In addition to top-billed stars like Stewart, McKellen, and Halle Berry, Vulture has learned that three more mutants filmed secret cameos in the film. To even hint at their identities, though, would reveal a major spoiler.)"

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" even from the title alone hints at time travel. In fact, there will be a scene with James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart meeting-the past and present Professor X.

Time travel is actually a good way to open the door for old characters who were killed off, and now the X-Men universe has opened that door. The next step would be genetic engineering and cloning..an integral part of Apocalypse's agenda.

It should also be noted that there is hardly an Apocalypse storyline that did not involve Scott Summers/Cyclops. Based on Vulture's tease that the cameo will be a 'major spoiler' there is a big chance that one of them would be Cyclops (Jean Grey would also be in the mix).

"X-Men: Days Of Future Past" will be released on May 23, with or without Cyclops. But you might find him in "X-Men: Apocalypse" on May 27, 2016,
