HTC Butterfly B2 Release Date: New High-End Smartphone Rumored Specs Incl. 5.1" 1080p Display, 2GB RAM, 13MP Camera, Gets Glossy Plastic Body

HTC Butterfly B2 release date: It has been almost a year since HTC unleashed its Butterfly S smartphone which shares similar specs with the previous flagship, the One M7. It seems the Taiwanese manufacturer is already planning to launch the phone's successor for this year.

According to a report by Android Authority, leaker @evleaks has acquired precious intel from 'leaker's leaker' @LlabTooFeR, that HTC is already working on the Butterfly S successor, and is dubbed as the B2.

In the report, the Buttefly B2 will supposedly pack similar specs to the current One M8 flagship, but gets a glossy plastic back cover instead.

This means that the upcoming Butterfly B2 smartphone from HTC would be cheaper than the One M8, which is just fitting considering that it would launch in the highly competitive Asian market.

However, the report also mentioned that the HTC B2 will get a different kind of camera, specifically a 13MP shooter at the back, and not the Duo UltraPixel cameras of the One M8.

This could be good news for people who are fans of the low resolution sensors of the One M8, which have been stuck to 4 megapixels. In other reports, even the One M8 mini will allegedly get the 13MP 'regular' camera, which in practice still takes better shots than the UltraPixel version.

This rumored smartphone has reportedly been spotted already several weeks ago in a benchmark. Dubbed as 0PAJ3, the smartphone was thought to be the One M8, but it had a plastic body instead of the metallic frame of the HTC flagship.

We will bring you more details about this new HTC high-end device in the coming weeks.
