Android 4.5 Lollipop Release Date Set For July Alongside The Nexus 8? Google To Announce Its New OS During The I/O Conference

Google's alleged upcoming operating system, Android 4.5 Lollipop might have a release date set for July.

Latest rumors about the Android 4.5 Lollipop release date suggest it will be available in July, together with Google's latest Nexus device, the Nexus 8. According to initial speculations, as reported on CBR Online, Google will announce its new mobile firmware, currently dubbed as Android 4.5 Lollipop during its yearly I/O Conference, which is set to take place this June 2014.

However, citing a Google employee from Dublin, The Next Digit reported that the Nexus 8 might not be announced during the internet's giant event next month. Google may hold a separate launching event for Nexus 8 in July. Meanwhile, the Android 4.5 Lollipop is still set to be unveiled at the I/O event.

As for the features of Android 4.5 Lollipop or whatever official name Google will use for the upcoming OS, report from Air Herald suggest that the firmware will have a "flatter design with a total rethink version."

Moreover, the post noted that leaked images from various sources shows that the Android icon will have a "standardized appearance."

The new Google OS will have a major revamp of the user interface and it is expected to "unify the experience that users have in Android, Chrome as well as in its Search platform on the Android-powered devices."

As for reports about the Nexus 8, Christian Today mentioned that the newGoogle tablet will be an 8-inch device to replace the current model of Nexus 7 as the main competitor for Apple iPad Mini with Retina Display. Google might also be working with HTC for the manufacturing process of Nexus 8.

Nexus 8 is rumored to be the first Android device to arrive pre-instaled with Google's new OS, the Android 4.5 Lollipop. In addition to the Android 4.5 Lollipop OS, the other expected specs for the rumored Nexus 8 are 64-bit processor and Intel's Moorefield CPU.
