Reports emerged that the Sony Xperia Z2 will soon be released in the US through a Verizon variant. The prolific leakster, @evleaks, revealed that the Sony Xperia Z2 Verizon will feature LTE-Advanced support and it still needs to pass through the certification and testing processes.

Furthermore, his post also mentioned that the Sony Xperia Z2 release date is expected to happen mid-part of the next quarter. This means that the Xperia Z2 Verizon, which as cited on Phone Dog, has a codename "Sony Sirius Viv" will most likely be available during middle part of August.

Verizon customers: your wait for the Sony XPERIA Z2 will not have been in vain. The delay, if you want to call it that, is due to the fact that a very specific variant, one that supports LTE-Advanced, must wind its way through the certification and testing processes. Look for the Sony Sirius Viv (D6503) during the middle of next quarter.

Furthermore, Sony also revealed back in April that the unlocked version of Sony Xperia Z2 will be available in the US via its online store this summer season. But according to Android Authority, the phone is still not available.

As reported on Christian Post, the specs of the Sony Xperia Z2 include a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 process with 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. As for the display, the 2014 flagship smartphone is equipped with a 5.2-inch Full HD Live Color LED display with a screen resolution of 1920 X 1080p. Some other specs of the handset device, as listed on the report are "4K video capture, Digital noise canceling technology, 3200 mAh battery, a waterproof and dustproof body, 4G LTE support and Android 4.4 KitKat integrated with Sony features."
