Miss USA Nia Sanchez Has a Black Belt, Not a Geography Degree; Former Miss Nevada Forgets The Capital of Nevada; Miss USA Nia Sanchez, Where Are You From?

Miss USA Nia Sanchez is a fourth-degree black belt in taekwondo, a Korean martial art, not an expert on state capitals. But the former Miss Nevada probably should write the capital of her home state on the back of her hand in case anyone asks.

Miss USA Nia Sanchez forgot the capital of her home state, Nevada, while giving a radio interview. This happened in the midst of reports that the new American beauty isn't from where she says she's from.

Miss USA has been denying claims that she faked her residency in order to compete in the 2014 Miss USA Pageant.

Donald Trump, Shanna Moakler, the director of the Miss Nevada USA Pageant and the new 2014 Miss USA Pageant winner, Miss Nevada Nia Sanchez, are slamming rumors that Sanchez might have faked her residency.

Nia isn't helping her cause, though.

Miss Nevada Nia Sanchez was crowned Miss USA at the annual pageant last week. She was on the morning radio program "The Todd Show" on Monday when she was asked what the capital of Nevada was.

"Oh, um, ahhh, oh my gosh," Sanchez said.

The host told informed her that it was Carson City.

"Thank you, I was going to say that! I was like, that one DJ host on MTV, back in the day, his name, that's how I always remembered it," Nia thanked him.

"Carson Daly, yeah," said the host.

According to FOX411, a source claims that Sanchez "never actually moved to Nevada, but continued to work at Disney and live in California, setting up some minimum paper trail to appear like she was in Nevada and allow her to compete."

The source goes on to claim that Sanchez competed for the Miss California crown in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Sanchez swears there is "no truth" in these claims, saying "[Las Vegas] is my home. I have a house there with a friend," she told FOX on June 12. "I actually had an agent that was working [with me] in Nevada a lot so I figured why not work in that state, and then I looked into the pageant program because I had done pageants before."
