Diancie Pokemon Anime Special To Air After 'Genesect and the Legend Awakened,' Before 'Cocoon Of Destruction' Full Movie Release Date

A new Pokemon anime special focusing on the mysterious Diancie has been announced for Japan.

According to Serebii, TV Tokyo has revealed that a new special anime episode will debut on July 17, immediately following the airing of the last Pokemon movie, "Genesect and the Legend Awakened."

Reportedly, the anime special is called "Diancie, Princess of the Ore Country," and will feature said Pokemon along with its Carbink butlers as they attempt to awaken Xerneas. The special is presumed to take place right before the upcoming Pokemon X and Y movie, "Diancie & the Cocoon of Destruction."

The anime special will take place two days before the theater release date for the upcoming Pokemon X and Y movie, and should further prepare fans for the experience.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire made a big splash at E3, and now a new trailer has been unveiled showcasing Mega Diancie.

"It was revealed today that when players transfer Mythical Pokemon Diancie from Pokemon X or Pokemon Y into Pokemon Omega Ruby or Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, it can Mega Evolve in battle after obtaining its Mega Stone," says the official Pokemon Company press release.

To obtain a Diancie, a distribution event will be held during the theater run of the Pokemon X and Y movie from July 19 to September 30. Reportedly, the Diancie distribution event will give Pokemon fans a Level 50 Diancie, with the moves Diamond Storm, Reflect, Moonblast, and Return. It will also hold a Normal Gem.

With this distribution event, the upcoming Pokemon movie, and the anime special, fans have a lot to look forward to next month.
