Derrick Rose News: 2011 MVP Showing 'Explosiveness And Speed' In Full-Contact 5-On-5 Games, Plans To Join TEAM USA Camp

At the age of 22, Derrick Rose became the youngest Most Valuable Player in the NBA. Derrick Rose news spread all over the world as the young Chicago point guard became an instant sensation with his athletic plays and full-contact maneuvers.

There was plenty of clamor in Chicago that they would at last capture an NBA title in the post-Jordan era. However, all of those hopes and dreams was lost after Rose suffered a torn ACL during the Bull's Playoff game with the Philadelphia 76ers during the First Round of the 2011-12 NBA Playoffs.

He missed an entire season, and made 'The Return' last year at the start of the 2013-14 season. However, a torn meniscus has left Rose sidelined again for the rest of the year.

However, a new report from The Epoch Times said that Rose is now engaging in full-contact 5-on-5 scrimmages while he is undergoing rehabiltation.

According to the Chicago Tribune, "The change in strategy has been seamless. It has allowed Rose to gain confidence and conditioning playing full court against teammates and various Chicago-area types with NBA ties in the suburban practice facility that soon will cede to the Bulls' new building across the street from the United Center."

The 25-year-old Rose has been conditioning both knees along with other All Stars in the NBA such as Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love.

In fact, during the first round of the NBA Playoffs, Rose has already been working hard in his rehabilitation and conditioning. Three sources mentioned that the former MVP is showing both 'explosiveness and speed' - his key qualities which endeared him to NBA fans so much.

In the report, Rose also plans to join Team USA in their mini-camp which would take place from July 28 up to August 1. From a pool of 21 players, only 12 will be selected by USA Basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski.
