Carmelo Anthony News: Melo Could Just Be 'Using' Bulls To Increase Pay, Claims Report

Now that free agency season is coming up, one interesting Carmelo Anthony news it that the NBA star is planning to change the scenery in order to chase his first ever NBA title.

That is certainly possible in this sport, specially because individual talent alone is oftentimes insufficient to win championships.

LeBron James knows that all too well, and he made 'The Decision' three years ago to say that he is willing to sacrifice a lot just to get the title he has always wanted since being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to a report by NY Daily News, a report from a source close to Anthory said that the Chicago Bulls' Joakim Noah Jr is calling on the 30-year old NBA veteran to join him in Windy City.

While an offer from the Bulls will certainly be a good option for Anthony for NBA title contention, it could be all just a game.

In the report, Anthony could just be trying to lure the Bulls in order for them to sign him, which later would force the Knicks to re-sign him for more money than he already makes.

This follows his conversation with team manager Phil Jackson who said Anthony should take a pay cut in order for him to look for other pieces of a real NBA title contender.

And knowing Jackson, with his 11 rings - the second most of any NBA coach in history - the Knicks' future could certainly be promising. With disciple and former court general Derek Fisher now leading the reins, Jackson should have total control of who's going to be in the 'championship caliber' team.

Unfortunately, if Anthony decides to sign with the Bulls, it is less likely that he will be returning to New York.

"If he makes the choice to opt out, I think he's gone", says a person 'familiar with the matter'.
