Amazon Fire Phone Hitting The Right Buttons Feature-Wise, Could Be The First Actual 'Revolutionary' Smartphone In Years

The Amazon Fire Phone was announced earlier this week, and we certain that it is one of the most exciting devices we have seen a long time.

For one, it has four sensors in front which detect where your eyes is looking on the phone's screens. Once you tilt the device, the effects are pretty cool and shows 3D images, something we have not seen in other devices before it. Sure, the iris detection feature could be inspired by earlier rumors of upcoming Samsung devices sporting such specs.

In addition to the cool front sensors, there is also the Firefly system which allows the device to identify over 100 million objects through the Fire Phone's camera lens, and then links it to currently in stock product on Amazon's website.

While the phone only sports neutral, if not ordinary looks, it more than makes up for it with 'ground-breaking' features which we haven't seen nor heard of the past.

In case you want to know the Amazon Fire Phone's specs, here is a short rundown. The device packs a 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720) display, a Snapdragon 800 chipset, a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, Adreno 330 GPU to handle graphics-related functions and tasks, 2GB of RAM, and either a 32GB or 64GB storage.

The phone also supports 4G LTE networks, packs a 2,400mAh battery which is promised to give up to 11 hours of video playback and 22 hours of talk time, and the forked version of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Unfortunately, the guys at Forbes simply were not impressed with the device, and even cites four reasons why it would fail and make significant increase in sales for the retail giant.

How about you? Do you think the Amazon Fire Phone is cool? But are you willing to shell out $199 on-contract or $650 off-contract?
