Gethin Anthony Of 'Game Of Thrones' Cast As Charles Manson in NBC Drama 'Aquarius' About The Manson Family: Joined By David Duchovny And 'Friday Night Lights' Grey Damon [PHOTO]

If you watched Renly Baratheon on Game of Thrones and throughout "That guy would make a great Manson," you are the only one. NBC has announced that Gethin Anthony, who played Renly Baratheon on "Game of Thrones, will be playing Manson in the upcoming show "Aquarius."

Anthony will portray Manson, described as the "archetypal Authentic Hippie Freak," whose intense charisma draws young followers to him. A man who has spent most of his life in prison, Manson dominates his young women followers with sex, drugs and a paternalistic attitude that masks his inner evil. Described as, "A dark, seductive force of nature," he recruits young Emma Karn, played by Emma Dumont, but his interest in may be far beyond the merely sexual, implicating her father in a far-reaching conspiracy.

"Friday Night Lights'" GreyDamon will also co-star along with David Duchovny, who is finishing up the final season of "Californication." Damon will play as Hodiak's (Duchovny) new partner. He helps Hodiak trace the missing Emma Karn, going undercover himself to learn more about Manson.

Duchovny will play a Los Angeles police sergeant with a complicated home life who takes note of small-time criminal Manson when he begins recruiting needy women to what becomes his cult. As history records, these members of Manson's "family" eventually commit various ghastly crimes, including the murders of actress Sharon Tate and supermarket owner Leno LaBianca.

The 13-episode "Aquarius" is being penned by "Profit" brainchild John McNamara.

McNamara will executive produce "Aquarius" with Duchovny Adelstein, Duchovny's manager Melanie Greene and Adelstein Prods.' Becky Clements. The project stems from a script McNamara developed for FX a long time ago with Adelstein producing. Adelstein held on to the script, and sent it to Duchovny, and the rest, as they say, is history.
