DWTS Star Elisabetta Canalis, George Clooney’s Ex, Heartbroken Over Miscarriage; Spotted Looking Somber In Milan

Elisabetta Canalis, an Italian actress and TV presenter who became famous in America for dating George Clooney and competing on Dancing With the Stars, made a somber appearance this weekend since announcing she had a miscarriage.

Mail Online reported that Elisabetta Canalis was spotted wearing dark sunglasses at a local market in Milan.

Elisabetta Canalis recently admitted she is suffering from heartbreak after a miscarriage. Canalis was set to give birth this fall.

Elisabetta Canalis, George Clooney's ex-girlfriend and contestant on Dancing with the Stars, opened up recently about losing a baby. Elisabetta Canalis suffered a miscarriage.

"You're never really ready to be told that there is no more beating (heartbeat)," she told WhoSay

Canalis wants to lend support to other women who have gone through miscarriages.

She wrote on WhoSay, "Unfortunately, life gives you ... a reality that you do not expect, and that is very hard to accept, even if you think you are strong enough and prepared," she wrote, according to an English translation provided by the Daily Mail. "You're never really ready to be told that there is no more beating [heartbeat] and that it had already stopped long ago."

Italian actress/model and former "Dancing with the Stars" star Elisabetta Canalis briefly dated George Clooney in 2011. She was expecting her first child with her boyfriend Brian Perri. The Italian model and actress revealed several that she recently suffered a miscarriage. Elisabetta Canalis said the miscarriage is "very hard to accept."

Canalis said it was Perri's support that helped most "I know I'm lucky because I have a special man next to me that I wish all to have. The future is full of surprises and happiness and there's a lot of hope, I keep on believing in it."

"You're never really ready to be told that there is no more beating (heartbeat) and that it had already stopped long ago," she continued before adding "I just want to say to all those women who are going through it to stay strong because life goes on and it is nobody's fault," Canalis added. "Nature acts in incomprehensible ways."

Besides being a contestant on Dancing With the Star, Canalis also appeared on the TNT caper drama "Leverage."
