Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: Desire 516 Hitting India Soon, Specs Include 5" Display, 1GB RAM, Dual-SIM Support, Costs Below $170

In the midst of dozens of handsets today, some people still refuse to lose hope and wait for upcoming HTC phones in 2014 which could help the struggling manufacturer turn things around.

This year, the Taiwanese manufacturer has done almost everything in order to get its sales up. From the Duo Camera of the One M8 to the plastic build but flagships specs of the One E8, everything has one goal - to sell and open a new era for the Android phone maker.

As the first ever manufacturer of the Android phone which was dubbed the HTC Dream, HTC has slumped from the top since 2011 when its flagship then, the HTC Sensation became one of the top favorites, particularly in Asia.

It looks like HTC has been banking on its strong Asian presence as a rumor suggests that one of its new midrangers, the Desire 516 is already on its way to the Indian market.

While HTC does not have a strong Indian market presence due to tight competition among local brands like Karbonn and Micromax, it does have a chance especially considering the specs and features found in the HTC Desire 516.

Currently available in China, the device is a decent midrange phone with a sleek design, and an expectedly low price range. According to the report by GSM Arena, the device is expected to sell below Rs.10,000 or $170, which is good in a competitive market.

The Desire 516 packs a 5-inch display with qHD (960 x 540) resolution, 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 512MB or 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of built in storage.

Other specs of the HTC handset include a 5MP primary camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP or 2MP front cam depending on the carrier. Also on board are the usual connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The device runs on a 1,950mAh battery and supports dual-SIM.
