Los Angeles Lakers News: Rebuilding Stage Begins In L.A., Who Will Join The Black Mamba In Conquest For Next NBA Title?

After missing their first NBA Playoffs in almost two decades, Los Angeles Lakers news are very hopeful to turn things around this coming NBA 2014-15 season.

Now that Kobe Bryant looks like he is suited to make a come back this year, we still cannot be certain that he can carry the entire Lakers squad on his own.

Right, he is a multiple MVP awardee, former scoring champion and many more in his stellar career, but Bryant has aged since then, and no one knows how he would be able to fare after his disastrous ACL injury a couple of seasons back.

What we're trying to say here is that the Black Mamba may not be enough to put the Lakers in title contention - and we're talking about the Western Conference Finals here.

Interestingly, there are a number of free agents this season which could make Los Angeles among the teams to beat again in the West.

While Carmelo Anthony has been eyeing the Chicago Bulls to be his next time, it would not be impossible for the Lakers to get the former scoring champion. Now that Bryant has aged and may now work with veteran point guard Steve Nash, Melo can comfortably play the third spot and bring the much needed firepower of the Lakers.

In another report, another key piece in the Lakers' offense could be Kevin Love, who was reported to show some interest to play for the Purple and Yellow squad. As an elite rebounder and three-point specialist, Love is a unique combination that the Lakers can use to stretch the floor, allowing better penetration to the paint.

Another player the Lakers are interested in is Kyle Lowry who can fill the gaping hole that is in the point guard spot. While Nash is still capable of running the plays for L.A, don't expect him to play more than 30 minutes a game.
