Xolo Q1010 review: Specs of the Android powered Xolo Q1010 include a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 5-inch display, and 1GB of RAM. The unit is designed for the lower-end of the market was launched at a price of RS 12,999 or $210.

The budget unit is in a similar price range with the Moto G, which is priced at an estimated $178, but is now running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat in India.

Other specs of the unit include a 4GB inbuilt storage, expandable to 32GB with microSD. It also has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

NDTV Gadgets noted that in terms of connectivity options, the Xolo Q1010 include 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB and Bluetooth. The budget handset, which because of its size is labeled as a phablet, has a 2250 mAh battery and based on its listing delivers up to 19 hours of talk time.

The company touts the device as a “perfect 10” and adds a free flipcover and OTG cable accessory for prospective buyers.

In a review by Price Deals India, it cites as a key disadvantage the lack of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and the limited native storage of the unit.

The Xolo Q1010 is one of the many gadgets designed with a high-end and premium look and decent specs but geared towards a more budget-friendly setting. It’s directly competing with a set of affordable Androids that is currently flooding the emerging market.

Some of Xolo Q1010’s competiton include Motorola’s Moto G and Moto E as well as Nokia’s X and X2 device. All units are running Android. The Xolo Q1010 may also be competing with the budget-friendly models of Xiaomi, one of the fastest growing mobile handset makers in the world and who recently launched their flagship Mi3 model in the country.

Some websites consider the Xolo Q1010 as an alternative to the Micromax A114.
