NBA Trade Rumors: Andrew Wiggins Not Mentioned In LeBron 'Essay!' Is He The Bait For Kevin Love?

The latest guest on the NBA Trade Rumor mill is Andrew Wiggins of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Wiggins could very well be the future of any franchise in the NBA, perhaps one of the most talented first overall pick since new teammate LeBron James.

So why shouldn't they be together?

While Wiggins is the future, LeBron James and Kevin Love is the present. Combining them in one team give you free rein on the other three positions because of these two players multiple skills. If you combine that duo with Kyrie Irving and even a young cast like Dion Waiters, Tristan Thompson and grizzled veteran Anderson Varejao, that roster is nothing to scoff at.

If LeBron James' essay is to be believed, that could be a plan. While it may simply be an oversight or just a conscious effort to avoid pre-empting anything, the King did not mention Andrew Wiggins by name when he talked about the Cavaliers. From SI.com:

I'm not promising a championship. I know how hard that is to deliver. We're not ready right now. No way. Of course, I want to win next year, but I'm realistic. It will be a long process, much longer than it was in 2010. My patience will get tested. I know that. I'm going into a situation with a young team and a new coach. I will be the old head. But I get a thrill out of bringing a group together and helping them reach a place they didn't know they could go. I see myself as a mentor now and I'm excited to lead some of these talented young guys. I think I can help Kyrie Irving become one of the best point guards in our league. I think I can help elevate Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters. And I can't wait to reunite with Anderson Varejao, one of my favorite teammates."

The conspicuous absence of Wiggins may not be a big deal at all, but it was enough to cause some 'intrigue:'

"ESPN.com reported Friday that Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love is naturally "intrigued" by the idea of playing alongside James and would welcome a trade to the Cavaliers now that Cleveland has managed to sign him. Any team trading for Love has to feel strongly they can keep the All-Star power forward before surrendering quality assets for him."

The possibilities for trades are endless for the Cavs, but the glittering prize is still Kevin Love. It is a no-brainer to connect the two, but it does not always happen in the NBA.
