Upcoming Sony Phones 2014: Xperia Z3 Leaked In New Images, Gets Rounded Edges

In spite releasing its latest flagship earlier this year, there are still a number of upcoming Sony phones for 2014 which are worth checking out.

One of these is the immediate successor of the Xperia Z2 - the Z3.

Many people may argue that the Japanese manufacturer is not doing itself any favor by replacing its flagship with another one after just 6 months in the market.

But for us Android fans, it is something we look forward to.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, the Sony Xperia Z3 has been spotted in the wild, and several pictures of it have been taken.

As one of the upcoming Sony phones for 2014, we would expect a lot from this new flagship. However, as the leaked images show, only a handful of features were changed such as the phone's shape and some positions of its features.

Unlike the Xperia Z2 which packs a box-type look, the alleged Xperia Z3 has curved corners which make it easier to handle in spite its size.

In the report, the speaker grille of the phone has also been slightly moved to the left. The volume buttons, microSD card slot and USB slot are all present at the sides. Meanwhile, the 20.7MP Sony camera is still the staple lens for the company as it graces the back part.

However, while all these hardware features are so-so, we are not confident that Sony would sweat making a successor with almost identical specs to its predecessor.

While there is still hope that this is indeed the Xperia Z3, we can also assume that this is among the upcoming Sony phones for 2014, probably a cheaper version of the device just like what HTC did with its One E8.

We'll make sure to bring you all the details about this mysterious Sony smartphone.
