Rihanna Twitter Saga: Singer Tweets And Deletes ‘#FreePalestine’, Message Was ‘Never Meant To Be Tweeted’

Rihanna's Twitter saga has developed a brand new twist - stories are now emerging that the 26-year-old never even meant to send out the message at all!

TMZ reports that a source close to the singer claims her #FreePalestine tweet wasn't meant to be seen by the public and her 36 million followers.

"She deleted it because it was never meant to be tweeted," said the source. "She didn't even realize it was a tweet until she started hearing from her fans."

The Rihanna Twitter account, run by the Barbadian star herself, was quick to respond to the Twitter outcry - the tweet disappeared about eight minutes after it was originally posted. But the source close to the star maintains the whole situation was purely an accident.

"The source says Rihanna was reading about the Middle East conflict online when she clicked a link," reports TMZ. "The next thing she new... her fans were asking her why she was pro-Palestine."

To smooth over Rihanna's Twitter drama, with fans wondering why the singer was showing allegiance in any side of conflict, the source said the star is neither pro-Palestine or pro-Israel.

"She is pro-peace. She doesn't want innocent people dying," said the source.

Rihanna also Tweeted out a new message to her followers, complete with a peaceful image.

Rihanna's Twitter has been the centre of a lot of controversy over the past week, with the #FreePalestine tweet following pictures of the star partying it up with German World Cup 2014 players and kissing the World Cup trophy.

"FIFA guidelines have previously said that only winners of the tournament and heads of state are allowed to handle the official World Cup Trophy," said the Daily Mail.

"I touched the cup, held the cup, kissed the cup, took a selfie wit the cup!! I meeeaan... what is YO bucket list looking like bruh?" Rihanna tweeted.

Rihanna also raised eyebrows at the World Cup final itself, with heads turning as Rihanna lifted up her shirt to reveal her bra and flash some skin when when Germany scored their sole goal against Argentina.
