Upcoming Sony Phones 2014: The Xperia Z3 Could Be First Sony Flagship To Make US Market As Primary Target

The Sony Xperia Z2 is one of the best upcoming Sony phones for 2014, but in spite getting released only in February, a successor is already in the works.

We have heard plenty of rumors about the alleged successor, the Sony Xperia Z3, but we haven't confirmed everything yet, until today.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the device has already passed the US FCC, which means it will only take a couple of weeks or a month at most for the device to be launched or announced.

An interesting thing to point out here is that the device will be the first Sony flagship to hit the US market in its initial release in the market. In comparison, while the Xperia Z2 has been launched in several countries already, it is not easily available in the US through carriers, and interested buyers would have to go to third-party retailers.

The last Sony device which was released exclusively for the US market was the Xperia Z1 Compact, which is a mini version of the Xperia Z1 flagship released last year. And it certainly had its fair share of fans.

Last year, Sony announced that it would be focusing its upcoming Sony phones for 2014 for its target markets, Europe, particularly the UK, and Japan. So it is certainly surprising that the new Sony Xperia Z3 would hit the US first.

According to rumors, the Japanese manufacturer would also launch the Xperia Z3 Compact during the same event the Xperia Z3 would see the light of day, which is probably during the IFA event in Berlin in September.

Sony has been doing good in terms of delivering the latest piece of hardware to its devices, but it has been struggling in terms of sending the shipments on time.

We'll bring you more details about the Xperia Z3, and other upcoming Sony phones for 2014 in the coming days.
