Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Rumors: Do We Finally See A Retina Scanner In A Smartphone?

The upcoming phablet from Samsung will not launch until September, but there are already a number of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors going around the Web recently.

According to report by GSM Arena, SamsungExynos's Twitter account has posted an image that is teases an upcoming feature of the Galaxy Note 4.

And with the caption unlock 'Unlock the Future', it sure tells a lot about the feature. However, we better keep our expectations in control, as this could just be another feature that the team is still working on and not something that we will see in the Galaxy Note 4.

Still, it is a promising feature that would enable users to unlock the phone, and even make secure transactions through PayPal and other retailers through a retina scan. Here's the image @SamsungExynos posted on Twitter.

According to reports, the Galaxy Note 4 would pack similar specs to the recently launched Galaxy S5 LTE-A smartphone, though we cannot confirm anything unless the Korean manufacturer announces it.

Rumored specs of the Galaxy Note 4 include a 5.7-inch display with QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, a quad-core CPU, a Snapdragon 805 chipset, 3GB of RAM.

There are also speculations that the Koreans would stick with the 16MP primary camera of the Samsung Galaxy S5, while putting OIS in the mix for better image processing.

The upcoming Samsung phablet is expected to make its debut at the IFA event in Berlin, together with probably another Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch.

However, it will not be a smooth ride for the Note 4 when it becomes available in the market as it would be up against the bigger iPhone 6 (5.5-inch version), and the Sony Xperia Z3 which are both expected to be available by the end of September.

We'll bring you more details about the upcoming Samsung phablet in the coming weeks.
