Jeremy Lin News: NBA Star Will Thrive In New-Look Lakers, Can Get The Tutoring He Needs From All-Star Floor General Steve Nash

Jeremy Lin news have been bustling as of late as the former Harvard standout has recently joined arguably the most popular NBA team in the world - the Los Angeles Lakers. 

His former team, the Houston Rockets have decided to let go of the 25-year-old floor general and send him to the Lakers together with a protected first round draft pick. 

In this new chapter in his career, all Lin was able to mention was that he is very excited with his upcoming stint with one of the proudest teams in NBA history, not to mention being able to play with former MVP Kobe Bryant. 

In a new Lakers squad that has struggled the past couple of seasons, and a team which missed the Playoffs for the first time since 2005 and the second time for the last two decades, Lin will definitely bring the energy the team lacked during its nightmare run last season. 

With a rehabilitated Bryant returning from injury, and new acquisitions during the free agency period, the 25-year-old point guard can do a lot in terms of facilitating the offense and pushing the ball just like what he did during his 'Linsanity' stint with the New York Knicks. 

Of course, he will need to balance ball handling chores with the team's franchise player in Bryant, who is expected to do everything to make it deep into the Playoffs, or even compete in the Finals in what people believe to be his penultimate year in his stellar NBA career. 

But in order to to do, Lin should be willing to sideline his offensive instincts and focus on his ball distribution skills. Two-time MVP and third in all-time assists Steve Nash will certainly play a major role in tutoring Lin the best way in orchestrating an offense. 

While the Lakers have not built the formidable squad they had envisioned going into free agency this year, the team remains to be a black horse that could make a surprising run to the Playoffs.
