The time warp drama "Faith" (Shin Eui) received responses to its first episode.

"Faith" began airing on Monday and the romance/drama is about a warrior from the Goryeo Dynasty and a female doctor from the present time, who goes back in time. The drama will chronicle the rise of a king and the main interest that is drawing people to it is the idea of time travel.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the recent trend in Korean dramas is love beyond time and place. "Time Slip Dr. Jin" was about a genius doctor who travels back to 1860 Chosun and falls in love and other dramas like "Queen Inhyun's Man" also dealt with such time travel ideas.

Japan is a big influence in the reason for this trend. Beginning with "Winter Story," Japanese people began to become more interested in Korean culture and also seemed to love historical dramas, and because of this success overseas, Korean storytellers began to figure out ways to tell both a present story and a historical drama, making time travel the perfect device. The term 'time-slip' was also invented by a Japanese novelist who used it back in the 90s to describe time travel.

"Faith" is beginning its run at #2 on the ratings charts, receiving ratings of 9.4% for its first episode country wide.
