Tool Frontman Maynard James Keenan Not Happy About Idea Of A New Album? Has Focus On Puscifer

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan is looking like he's not really excited about a new album from the band after he left some comments about their progress while he is on a tour with his other band Puscifer.

The singer was recently interviewed by Phoenix New Times and was reported by Consequence Of Sound and claimed that fans shouldn't be really excited about a new album from Tool since nothing might come out anytime soon since he's busy with his other group.

"But as with any time he's asked about Tool, his answers quickly become curt," interviewer David Accomazzo said in his report. "A hint of exasperation creeps into his voice and he exhales heavily through his nose."

"Yeah, it's there, but people miss it because they're so focused on the other bullshit," Keenan said when asked about his thoughts about a new Tool album and talked about his other releases. "It's lost. Insufferable people. It's just ridiculous, retards. I'm sorry. Can't help them. Way too serious. Too much. Lighten up."

Reports about the new record coming out came early this year after guitarist Adam Jones said in a Rolling Stone report that they have written a few songs following their success from facing a lawsuit in the past decade.

"Our greatest strength is jamming and coming up with stuff," Jones said of the new album from Tool. "We're doing that really well now and I'm excited about everything we're working on. Some of it's really heavy, some of it's really complex and some is more atmospheric, but it's definitely Tool."

Keenan meanwhile, talked to Rolling Stone in a different interview, which was reported by a Reddit post, and claimed how the record wouldn't materialize because of the other members' availability.

"I write lyrics and melodies to music," he said. "If I don't have music, I can't."
