The line-up of the more than 100 Xbox 360 games which can be played through the backwards compatibility feature of Xbox One will finally be revealed by Microsoft on Nov. 9.
This was announced by Xbox One engineering boss Mike Ybarra in his Twitter account, reported GamesSpot.
"For those asking we'll announce the initial set of 100+ backward compatible titles on 11/9, a few days before our launch!" Ybarra (@XboxQwik) tweeted.
The Nov. 9 announcement will come just a few days before the Nov. 12 roll-out of the New Xbox One Experience, which introduces the highly-anticipated backwards compatibility feature.
The latest update would allow gamers to play their Xbox 360 games on Microsoft's latest gaming console without having to go online.
So far, among the confirmed Xbox 360 games which will be playable on Xbox One include "Borderlands," "Fallout 3," "Gears of War 1-3," and "Mass Effect."
Microsoft has promised that more Xbox 360 titles will be added to the list of Xbox One backwards compatible games.
Moreover, all Xbox 360 games with Gold titles can be played on Xbox One through the backwards compatibility update.
Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg is optimistic that the backwards compatibility feature of Xbox One will enable the company to compete head on - and stand out - among its industry rivals.
"I think it'll be tremendous. It's another differentiator for us," Greenberg said. "We're going to be the only next-gen console delivering backwards compatibility."
It was during the Xbox E3 2015 where Microsoft revealed that it would be releasing its backwards compatibility update for Xbox One, according to PC Mag.
Gamers had been requesting for the feature to be included in the next-generation console but apparently was not given much attention then.
Finally, Microsoft took notice to the fans' clamor with Microsoft chief Phil Spencer's announcement that his team was working hard to make backwards compatibility possible on the Xbox One.
