Synopsis/Recap:
This week's episode begins with Sakurako's deduction that the painting may be making each man in the family sick. In particular, because it contains arsenic. Moreover, the arsenic has caused mold to release poisonous gas into the room. Sakurako was lead to believing that it was arsenic due to the lines in his nails and his cough.
As for the other curse, Sakurako believes that the men are suffering from perhaps issues with stress hormones aggravating pre-existing issues with their heart arteries. She proposes that the reason women in the family are unaffected is due to female ability to cope better with stress.
Everyone is full of feels now that the curse issue has been resolved. However, Fujioka seems to have other plans regarding his life. He steps out to have what he says is his last cigarette. Through conversation with Utsumi, Sakurako and Tatewaki realize that everything is not what it seems.
Outside it appears that Fujioka has set up the entire incident, including his now staged wood chopping accident, to cover up his planned suicide. It appears he lost all the family's money in the stock market and that made him want to kill himself for the life insurance money. His wife assures him that they can sell everything and start over as long as they're a family.
Fujioka passes out. The ambulance will have to take a detour to get to the house, so Utsumi decides to carry him to the road. He carries him away. Sakurako notices that the light of the area now seems hopeful.
