Deftones confirmed that they are done recording their new album but fans would have to wait a little more longer for the record to come out, as it is reportedly set to hit the shelves next year.
Members of the band recently talked to NME and confirmed that the overall progress of the new Deftones album is almost 100%.
Members Abe Cunningham and Frank Delgado confirmed the news in an interview and revealed that the disc would be available to that public in 2016.
The drummer also added that they have a few dates in mind.
"It's going to come out in the new year," Delgado said. "We had some dates that were already kind of tentative."
In addition to that, the keyboard and the person in charge of the turntables for the band revealed that the new Deftones album is being mixed and that the whole band is excited to hear what the final copy would sound like.
"It's being mixed now," Cunningham added. "It started being mixed a couple weeks back. They're actually going tomorrow to go down and listen to mixes and do things and... We're mixing and we still are in the process of album title, artwork, song titles. We haven't even got there yet, but the music's done."
As to what fans could expect from the record, Delgado revealed in a Blabbermouth report that they have done something different that would definitely surprise their fans.
"This one was different," Delgado said of their new Deftones album. "This one was a lot of starting and stopping, which I think is something we would've been scared of before."
"For the last couple of records, we went in and we started writing and we didn't stop until we finished the record," he said. "This one we took our time and it was a good pace. Everyone needed that break to breathe, to go home to family. Now we're ready to be able to work like this. It allowed us to think about things longer as opposed to get something done by a deadline."
