Not only will we say goodbye to Clara by the end of "Doctor Who" Season 9, but new reports state that Season 10's episode count will be cut in half.
According to the Mirror, Peter Capaldi plans to direct a film next year as well as direct two episodes of the US TV series "Veep." The grueling filming schedule for "Doctor Who" has reportedly also played a part in the decision.
"If you did the series all year there'd be casualties - and one would be its quality," said Capaldi. "There's a point where you can't drive people any harder."
As previously reported, executive producer Steven Moffat reassured fans that Peter Capaldi "is going nowhere" as the Doctor, despite rumors to the contrary for Season 10.
In fact, he may make an appearance on the "Doctor Who" spin-off series "Class," according to Radio Times.
"I can neither yet confirm nor deny," said "Class" lead writer Patrick Ness.
"But I'm a big Peter Capaldi fan, let's put it that way. It's funny - I'm not gonna answer that question. I've already started ignoring the sort of baiting, trolling tweets of 'We've heard this!' and 'my sources say!' And I just laugh, I mean like wow, because some of the stuff I've seen is so wildly wrong. I think 'Oh, this could be a fun year.'"
According to Den of Geek, "Class" will comprise of eight 45-minute episodes in 2016 and is described as having "all the action, heart and adrenalin of the best YA fiction."
