One Plus X release date is just around the corner, now its time to get up close and personal with the newest addition to the One Plus smartphone family.
The One Plus X was just announced last month and came as a surprise after One Plus unveiled the successor to the One Plus One “flagship killer,” the One Plus Two.
The design of the phone was just as premium-looking as the previous two smartphones, but the low starting price is something that would win the hearts of consumers everywhere. Especially since the market has a lot of new smartphones that have great specs and budget friendly prices.
According to PC Advisor, the One Plus X still has full HD resolution, AMOLED tech, and a more compact design, however there are some things to take note of.
The 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor is an out of date chip that is most probably a cost cutting measure since the One Plus X is trying to compete with the “budget” phone prices. It also has some minor heating problems and less than average battery life that lasts four hours and 57 minutes.
However, these cons can be overlooked because of the number of other things that make it great phone. There is the impressive primary camera, Oxygen OS, a dual sim slot, expandable memory up to 128GB via microSD and more.
While the design is the main selling point, there are some features lacking in the One Plus X that are found in its big brother the One Plus 2, but a $250 retail price is practically a steal. There is also a limited ceramic version of the phone, but it has 10,000 limited units up for sale and costs almost double its retail price.
Android Authority reported that the One Plus X will require an invite to purchase, but it won’t be very long until they open up sales to other consumers.
