Blink 182 New Album Almost Complete? Songs Written By Matt Skiba Revealed

A new Blink 182 album is on its way and fans have mixed emotions with the addition of Matt Skiba in the line up.

In a recent interview with NME, drummer Travis Barker revealed his excitement with having the Alkaline Trio singer in their group, while he contributes his thoughts for the upcoming record.

"Matt's killing it," Barker said. "He's fun to play with and write with. We're just getting started but I think we've got like four or five songs right now that I'm really, really happy with."

Loud Wire also pointed out how the group has at least written five songs for the new Blink 182 album.

In an interview, the drummer revealed how the songs have the mix of the old Blink sound but still has a different twist that fans should be excited about.

He pointed out how Skiba's voice and style mix well with the sound of the punk band and the signature melody that bassist Mark Hoppus puts into the sound.

"They sound different but still the same," he said. "Obviously, it's Matt Skiba singing so there's hints of Alkaline Trio, or at least Matt's contributions to Alkaline Trio, mixed with my drumming and Mark's voice and stuff. It's really cool and I really love what we've done so far."

Furthermore, Barker also revealed that the new album from Blink 182 should be expected at the right time and that the group is taking things slowly for now.

"The goal here is to come up with an album and just write," he added. "We don't put a limit on how many songs we're gonna write. [We just] write a bunch of songs and when we feel like there's an album ready, there's an album ready. You know, no pressure, no deadlines."

Rumors say that the new album from Blink 182 should be available any time next year.
