Black Sabbath recently announced that they are about to close the doors for the band, as they would embark on a last tour for their fans, but hinted that they might reveal a new album as a parting gift.
According to a Loud Wire report, the heavy metal band is scheduled to start with the last tour as a group in January and February as their first leg and August and September for their second leg.
Rumors, however, state that the gap between the two legs of the tour could potentially be the time for the group to release a new Black Sabbath album, which they could promote for the last time in the latter part of 2016.
Meanwhile, guitarist Tony Iommi told Birmingham Mail that one of the reasons for the end of their tenure is for him to rest and not let his lymphoma come back.
"I can't actually do this anymore," Iommi said after surviving the battle with lymphoma, saying that he doesn't want the illness to come back. "My body won't take it much more."
"I don't want that creeping back again. And all the travelling involved in Sabbath tours increasingly takes its toll. That's why we're going out on one last tour, to say our farewells.
"And then it very definitely is the end," he added. "We won't be doing it again."
Black Sabbath fans, however, will be treated not with a new album from the group but a new record from their singer Ozzy Osbourne.
According to a Blabbermouth report, Epic Records president Sylvia Rhone revealed that the Black Sabbath singer is set to release a new album, which is said to be a very special release.
"It's going to be a really special album," Rhone said. "It's going to be amazing, it's something Ozzy has never done before that he's always wanted to do."
