Stone Temple Pilots In Search For A New Singer, Scott Weiland Open For A Comeback

Chester Bennington recently left Stone Temple Pilots to focus on his current band Linkin Park and the iconic rock and roll group is now looking for a new singer to replace the replacement.

In a report by Gibson, the remaining Stone Temple Pilots members Robert DeLeo, Dean DeLeo and Eric Kretz are searching for a new singer after bidding their farewell to Bennington.

"Within this, there is a new beginning," the rest of STP said in an official statement. "There is an abundance of new music written, some of which is already recorded. We have had the fortune of playing with some very talented singers over the last few months and will continue to do so until each of us feels and knows when the right person arrives."

However, a Blabbermouth report revealed that original singer Scott Weiland hasn't closed his doors of returning to the group, but revealed that it may take quite some time before it could happen.

"I think it would be beneficial to wait a little while, give it a little bit of time to let some air kind of breathe between all of us before that happens," Weiland said, while the Stone Temple Pilots are still searching for a new singer. "Like, you know, a year or something like that."

While looking for a new singer, the now-former Stone Temple Pilots vocalist revealed in a Rolling Stone report how thrilled it was for him to be part of the group.

"The last few years have been an amazing experience," Bennington said. "I got to create and perform with one of the greatest rock bands of our generation, that had so much influence on me growing up. With the amount of time STP deserves, in addition to being in Linkin Park, and with the needs of my family, one of them always seems to fall short."
