INFINITE's Kim Sunggyu Slected As 1st Guest MC To Replace Jung Hyung Don On 'Weekly Idol'

The popular variety program Weekly Idol will be seeing a number of new guest MCs to fill the hole left by MC Jung Hyung Don.

Jung Hyung Don recently announced his hiatus from broadcasting activities as he seeks treatment for his anxiety disorder. As he and fellow host Defconn have become the faces of the Korean variety program many were wondering who would fill such large sues in Hyung Don's stead.

On November 23, Weekly Idol's producers announced that some of the show's most memorable idol guests have been invited to help host the show. These idols are not only memorable for their time on the show but are also known as close friends of Jung Hyun Don according to OSEN.

First up is INFINITE's leader Kim Sunggyu. The idol band member is both a close friend and a hardcore fan of Jung Hyung Don, making him one of the most perfect choices for the first guest MC.

Sunggyu's episode of Weekly Idol is scheduled to air on December 2. OSEN further revealed that Sunggyu is busy preparing for the upcoming shoot while also fulfilling his responsibilities with his group INFINITE.

Besides Sunggyu, only Super Junior's Heechul has been revealed as another special guest host. He will join Defconn for Weekly Idol's Christmas special.
