EXO will release a special winter album on December 10 titled "Sing for You."
On November 27, SM Entertainment confirmed the previously rumored release through a report initially published by the Korean outlet, XportsNews. According to the report, "Sing for You" was created as a gift for their dedicated fan base known as EXO-L.
The now-nine-member group dominated K-pop charts in 2015, through "EXODUS" and the repackaged album, "Love Me Right," which sold more than one million copies, domestically.
While "Song for You" is not specifically centered on Christmas, the release is highly anticipated due to the success of the 2013 release, "Miracles in December."
EXO will premiere their performance of the winter album through their "EXO Comeback Stage- Sing forYou" program, which is scheduled for broadcast on December 10 through Naver's V app.
Confirmation of their upcoming album preceded their first segment on V, where the members celebrated Chanyeol's birthday and interacted with an audience of more than 500,000 viewers, who tuned in to the mobile program from countries including France, Singapore, and United Arab Emirates.
The popular male group also confirmed their appearance at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards, along with labelmates SHINee, f(x), and Girls' Generation's Taeyeon.
EXO is scheduled to take the stage at the international award show prior to the release of "Song for You," on December 2.
Their inclusion in the lineup, along with other SM artists, follows widespread rumors that the label was considering a boycott of the Mnet Asian Music Awards. EXO-L can now anticipate their appearance at the program and their thrilling stage performance.
