MAMA 2015: HyunA, Red Velvet And SHINee Receive Dance Performance Awards

4Minute's HyunA, and SM Entertainment groups Red Velvet and SHINee walk away as the best dance performers for the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

HyunA nabbed the award for Best Solo Dance Performance with her catchy summer track "Roll Deep." She beat out fellow female artists f(x)'s Amber and Brown Eyed Girls' Gain, as well as J.Y Park and Teen Top's Niel.

This year's MAMA was HyunA's first time performing and accepting as a solo artist since she has previously come as either a member of 4Minute or with sub-unit partner Jung Hyunseung of Beast.

SM Entertainment artists took away the rest of the Best Dance Performance awards. Red Velvet took the award for Best Female Dance Performance for their song "Ice Cream Cake" while their label mates SHINee grabbed Best Male Dance Performance with "View."

As SHINee is known for their unique and difficult choreography, their win is both unsurprising and welcomed. They even beat fellow SM Entertainment boy group EXO who were nominated for their fun and fresh choreography in "Call Me Baby."
