A Japanese musician is accused of copying K-pop's Big Bang.
ISH-ONE's latest song and music video for the single "Mr.Problem" have come under plagiarism accusations due to similarities between the track and one by Big Bang. "Mr. Problem" allegedly copied features directly from "Good Boy," a duet featuring Big Bang's G-Dragon and Taeyang (known as GD X Taeyang).
ISH-ONE promptly denied the plagiarism accusations.
According to the Korean outlet TV Report, ISH-ONE claimed that the music video and song were not plagiarized, but admitted that they "like Big Bang."
The song in question bares similarities ranging from audio and vocal elements with "Good Boy," along with similar features appearing in the two music videos.
"Mr.Problem" was released on Dec. 2, over a year after "Good Boy" was released."
Plagarism concerns were raised between the two songs begin with near-identical beats at the beginning of the two songs, along with elements of the chorus and raps of "Mr.Problem" containing the same rhythm and vocal nuances.
"Mr.Problem" also includes day-glo lighting that is an iconic image from the "Good Boy" music video.
Big Bang debuted under YG Entertainment in 2006 while ISH-ONE have been active in Japan since the same year.
