LE SSERAFIM's Huh Yunjin has opened up about her fears for the group's future after months of intense criticism over their live vocals, particularly following their high-profile performance at Coachella 2024.

In a heartfelt speech during the group's recent EASY, CRAZY, HOT concert in Incheon, South Korea, Yunjin revealed that the wave of negative attention left her feeling uncertain about what lay ahead for LE SSERAFIM.

The controversy began after LE SSERAFIM's debut at Coachella, where their live singing drew widespread scrutiny online. Many viewers pointed out issues with vocal projection and pitch stability, with some expressing disappointment over the group's representation of K-pop on such a prominent international stage. The situation escalated further during their second weekend performance, as allegations of lip-syncing surfaced when fans noticed inconsistencies between the members' microphone use and the audio.

The backlash became so severe that the group temporarily disabled comments on their social media accounts to shield themselves from the negativity.

"I was crying and telling the staff this," she said. "I was in a hotel room talking to a person in my company, 'What will we do now? Will there be a future? What should we do?' I don't know what is real and what is fake"

The emotional toll of the controversy was further highlighted in a personal letter Yunjin previously shared with fans. She described the experience as transformative, filled with both immense joy and deep sorrow, and admitted that the relentless criticism made her question her own identity and the group's path forward.

LE SSERAFIM's leader Kim Chaewon also addressed the situation during a press conference, expressing regret over their Coachella stage. She acknowledged that the group had "lost control over our pace," leading to mistakes, but emphasized that the experience taught them valuable lessons.
