‘Gravity Falls’ Season 3 Still Has A Chance? ‘Weirdmageddon’/’Rock & Morty’ Crossover Possible?

While several reports have claimed that "Gravity Falls" will no longer have season 3, a recent speculation has hinted that projects related to the series are still possible.

However, it was not quantified if such "Gravity Falls" projects will include the run of the third season, based on what Yibada reported.

Show creator Alex Hirsch shared on his Tumblr page that not all questions posed by fans will be answered in the finale of "Gravity Falls 2" called "Weirdmageddon 3" considering that its followers have noted several theories. Could this be something then that would merit a season 3 for "Gravity Falls?"

"Will every single conceivable question ever thought of about Gravity Falls be answered in the end?" he stated. "Of course not."

"But that just leaves some material for any potential 'Gravity Falls' projects in the future...(including the canon Journal #3 that goes on sale in 2016)," he added.

Meanwhile, the report pointed out that "Hirsch is open to the possibility of having collaborations in the future" although it was learned that "even before they started season 2, they know that it will be their last season." With this, should fans finally conclude that "Gravity Falls" season 3 was never on the drawing board from the very start?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hirsch gave out a vague response on whether or not a crossover between "Gravity Falls" and "Rocky & Morty" is possible.

"I remember when I was a kid, whenever you'd see cartoons cross over with each other, it always ranged from a delightful, magical surprise to a cynical, annoying cash grab," he explained.

"So far, we've found that these little winking nods between our shows strike the right balance," he further said. "I can't say whether or not there will be more, but I can say that we like to confuse and amuse people so who the hell knows."

Keep posted for more "Gravity Falls" season 3 updates!
