Despite earlier reports, Big Bang will be attending at least one major year-end music award ceremony.
Even though the group's record label previously stated they would refrain from making appearances at any year-end K-pop music ceremonies due to album preparations and the final leg of their MADE World Tour, YG Entertainment has revealed that Big Bang will appear at at least one.
On Thursday, Dec. 17, a representative from YG Entertainment announced that Big Bang will be attending the 30th annual Golden Disk Awards on Jan. 20 and 21 in Shenzhen, China.
"In Big Bang's case, their 'MADE' series ranked high on music charts since this past May, and their attendance at the 'Golden Disk Awards' was quickly confirmed," said the representative, as reported by Allkpop.
The representative further revealed that Big Bang has been working with the stage crews and will give a spectacular and memorable performance on that night.
"Big Bang are a team that put in a lot of effort for their performances, and it's been revealed that the production team has been preparing carefully for the Golden Disk Awards."
Last year, Big Bang member Taeyang won the award for Digital Single of the Year for solo hit song "Eyes, Nose, Lips."
Following the Golden Disk Awards, Big Bang will wrap up their MADE 2015-16 World Tour in Japan with the final performance on Feb. 23, 2016 in Tokyo.
