Congratulations are in order for YG Entertainment's popular male group Big Bang.
The five-member K-pop act has been deemed Artist of the Year by Gallup Korea.
The research institution conducted surveys of 4,200 people around South Korea as well as 1,500 idol group members during the months of July, September, and November and Big Bang received 15.5 percent of the votes.
The group likely won the distinction due to their MADE single album series released over the course of four months this year, with eight chart-topping singles. Big Bang placed second in similar polls from 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011. This year marks the first time they have been number one.
Pop singer IU landed in second place with 15.4 of the votes, despite several controversies surrounding her most recent album Chat-Shire.
Girls' Generation, Jang Yoon Jung and SISTAR placed third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
In addition to Artist of the Year, Big Bang's single "Bang Bang Bang" was also voted Song of the Year in the Gallup Korea poll. The song earned 7.2 percent of votes. Oh Seung Keun's "What's Wrong with My Age," Lim Chang Jung's "Love Again," IU's "Heart" and EXID's "Up&Down" rounded out the top five.
Big Bang and "Bang Bang Bang" also won Mnet Asian Music Awards earlier this month for Artist and Song of the Year.
