Big Bang, EXO Confirm Performances For Gaon K-Pop Awards Ceremony In February

Two mega male artists are confirmed for the upcoming Gaon K-Pop Awards.

The Gaon K-Pop Awards are held every year by South Korea's leading music chart to celebrate the top artists in the Korean music scene during the year.

This year, two of K-pop's top-selling acts - YG Entertainment's popular male group Big Bang and SM Entertainment hit-makers EXO - have signed on to appear at the awards festival.

This year, three years since their last album as a full group, Big Bang made their highly anticipated comeback with the release of eight singles for their MADE series.

Since May, Big Bang's MADE series single albums have sold over a total of 13.3 million copies to date. As of Dec. 11, their music videos for the project have reached over 354 million collective views on YouTube.

EXO also had a strong showing in album sales, releasing their second full-length album EXODUS on March 30 and the repackaged version Love Me Right in June. This month, the group followed up with the EP Sing For You.

EXO's popularity keeps growing globally as they took the number one spot for the most K-pop albums sold in United States for 2015. Both the original and repackaged album of EXODUS sold over 6,000 copies in the U.S. alone.

EXO and Big Bang will hit the stage and perform their hit 2015 songs during the Gaon K-Pop Awards on February 17 at the Seoul Student Gymnasium.
