Eric Nam And SPICA Move To CJ E&M As Jung Joon Young Departs

Two K-pop acts recently made the change to join one of South Korea's largest entertainment company, CJ E&M.

On Thursday, CJ E&M Music Business Unit announced that it had signed exclusive contracts with solo singer and all-around talent Eric Nam and K-pop girl group Spica. Both Spica and Eric Nam had previously been signed with B2M Entertainment.

"We signed exclusive contracts because of Eric Nam′s global growth potential and the potential for a talented girl group like Spica has to take on individual activities as well in the future," said CJ E&M Music Business Unit's Ahn Suk Joon.

"We will do our best to help them to go beyond Korea and be global stars through CJ E&M′s music infrastructure."

Eric Nam made his debut in 2013 and became known for his skills as a variety show host and MC, along with his being multi-lingual.

Spica debuted in 2012 as a five-member act produced by Lee Hyori, and made their English-language debut with "I Did It" in 2014 at KCON LA.

CJ E&M Music Business Unit also houses singers like Davichi, Roy Kim, and SG Wannabe. The company previously housed Jung Joon Young, but also announced the end of Jung's relationship with CJ E&M on Thursday.
