Several films in 2015 will feature members of one K-pop group.
At least four members of EXO will appear in South Korean films in 2016. EXO, one of the most successful K-pop idol groups around today, is already extremely popular but now D.O., Suho, Chanyeol, and Xiumin will aim to become acting-idols.
The EXO members will appear alongside other Korean stars in highly anticipated films.
D.O (Do Kyung Soo) made his successful acting debut in the film "Cart" and the drama "It's Okay, That's Love" back in 2014.
This year, D.O will appear in "Pure Love," direct by Lee Eun Hee, alongside Kim So Hyun.
He will also appear in a second film, "Older Brother," alongside Park Shin Hye and Jo Jung Suk.
EXO's leader Suho (Kim Jun Myeon) appeared in the indie film "One Way Trip," which debuted at the 20th Busan International Film Festival in October. The film has yet to be formally released, but features Suho alongside Ryu Jun Yeol of "Reply 1988," Ji Soo, and Shinhwa's Kim Dong Wan.
A third member of EXO, Xiumin (Kim Min Seok) will star in the historical comedy "Kim Seon Dal," an already star-studded cast including Yoo Seung Ho, Yeon Woo Jin, Ra Mi Ran, Jo Jae Hyun, and Go Chang Seok. The film is about South Korean folk hero Kim Seon Dal, played by Yoo. Xiumin will play Kim Seon Dal's youngest brother.
Along with members of EXO appearing in Korean films, EXO's Chanyeol will appear in the Korean-Chinese romantic comedy "So I Married An Anti-Fan" alongside Girls' Generation's Seohyun.
