K-pop fans may think of 2015 as the year Big Bang made a comeback with "MADE" or the year that BTS truly made waves in the Korean industry, but according to Mnet, it was a solo hip hop artist whose songs were the most popular in Korea in 2015.
It was none other than Zion.T who topped Mnet.com's recently released ranking of the Top 100 songs of 2015. The singer took the first two spots on Mnet.com's list, based on streaming and downloads throughout the year.
"Eat" came in first place," followed closely by "Yanghwa Bridge" in second.
Zion.T's collaborative track with Crush, "Just" came in at 10th place, giving Zion.T three songs in the top ten list.
The top ten also included songs by Big Bang, IU, Sistar, Naul, Loco, Hyukoh, and Baek Ah Yeon.
Zion.T debuted in 2011 as a hip hop artist and producer. 2015 was Zion.T's true break out year, as the soloist he released numerous songs, including the three that appeared in the top ten of Mnet.com's list as well as "No Make Up."
He is currently managed by Amoeba Culture, which houses other hip hop artists including Primary, Dynamic Dup, and Crush.
