Arrival Of K-Pop Boy Band BTS Draws Huge Media Response In Taiwan

Korean idols BTS were greeted by a swarm of reporters when they landed in Taiwan on Friday to film for an upcoming TV special.

On Jan. 8, news outlets from around the small island nation caused a mayhem at the Taoyuan airport outside of Taipei as the popular K-pop act deboarded their plane. Several prominent mainstream media outlets were present including Apple Daily, UDN News, Liberty Times, The China Times and Taiwan's biggest television network, TTV.

The group visited Taiwan in order to film for the upcoming lunar new year TV program Super Star: A Red & White Lunar New Year Special.

TTV had extensive coverage as about 12,000 fans were in attendance when BTS recorded their segment on Saturday, Jan. 9 at the Taipei Dome.

Following the early February broadcast in Taiwan, BTS has also been confirmed to attend the Gaon K-pop Awards on Feb. 17.
