"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" continues to garner fans around the world, including one of China's budding stars.
Last week, Yahoo! Movies Canada featured Luhan's "The Inner Force" on its website, highlighting the former EXO member's promotional single. The video features Luhan as well as shots of "The Force Awakens," and highlighted the singer's popularity in China.
Yahoo! described Luhan as "the Justin Bieber of China" and "a baby-faced crooner."
"The Inner Force" is a an electronic-heavy dramatic track that features references to "Star Wars" elements like The Force and lightsabers.
The video features Luhan dressed like a Jedi with a lightsaber, alongside iconic "Star Wars" droids R2-D2 and BB-8.
Luhan was picked to represent "Star Wars" in China ahead of the film's release.
"Star Wars" is less popular in China and Asia overall, resulting in a push by Disney to entice audiences through pop collaborations.
While Luhan represented "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in China, his former group, EXO, served as the film's ambassadors in South Korea. Their song, "Lightsaber" was featured as a special track on their recent "Sing For You" holiday EP.
Luhan released "The Inner Force" through his official music studio in China on Jan. 6. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was released in China on Jan. 9.
