Members of Korea's top girl group are branching out on their own in 2016.
Girls' Generation member Kim Taeyeon is said to be returning with another solo in mid-February, just four months after her solo debut in October.
According to an insider on Jan.13, Taeyeon will release a digital single in the middle of February. The informant revealed that the song has already been compoesd and that the music video is scheduled for filming in mid-January.
Taeyeon's debut album, "I," was released in October to spectacular results, selling over 100,000 copies.
Other Girls' Generation solo albums are planned for later in the year, but Taeyeon will be the first member to release a song in 2016.
The insider also informed Korean media outlet Sports Donga about future releases. "Tiffany is currently preparing her solo album, to be released after Taeyeon's solo."
"After Tiffany, another member will have a solo," the insider stated.
SM Entertainment responded to the insider, stating, "Taeyeon is continuously working on recording new music. However, the exact details of her comeback have not been decided yet."
Taeyeon's "I" was the No. 16 best selling album in 2015, with sales totalling 119,576 copies. "I" only sold 20,000 copies less than the group's ninth mini-album, which recorded sales of 145,044.
