Singer-actor Kang Dong Won is now officially part of the YG Family.
Signing the contract deal on Monday, Jan. 18, Kang Dong Won is now working with YG Entertainment, one of the three largest music and entertainment agencies in South Korea.
Announcing the news, YG uploaded a photo on the agency's official blog about Kang's addition to the family.
"Welcome to YG and Happy Birthday Kang Dong Won," is what the announcement read, as reported by K-Pop Herald. Kang turned 35-years-old on Monday.
Kang's decision to join YG Entertainment happened when CEO Yang Hyun Suk had a pleasant meeting this month, according to news reports.
Kang's previous contract with United Artist Agency expired in November 2015. Kang is known for his great acting in movies such as The Priests, My Brilliant Life, and KUNDO.
Kang's first breakthrough in the filming industry was in the July 22, 2004 movie Temptation of Wolves, which the film was directed by Kim Tae Kyun.
Meanwhile, Kang Dong Won is confirmed to be acting in the upcoming film A Violent Prosecutor, which he will join Hwang Jung Min. The two will work towards clearing the prosecutor's wrongful conviction in the crime film.
