Psy's Viral Success Continues As Music Video For 'Daddy' Surges Past 100 Million Views

After the overwhelming success of "Gangnam Style," which is still the most watched YouTube video ever with over 2.5 billion views and counting, many wondered if viral sensation Psy could come close to the same success again.

If 100 million views are any measure of success, it appears he's is doing just fine.

As of Tuesday, Psy's "Daddy" music video has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube. It may not be anywhere close to "Gangnam Style," but it is at least a testament to the enduring popularity of Psy after over seven studio albums.

Last year, Psy explained that he felt a lot of pressure after "Gangnam Style." He said that the pressure was largely the reason he waited almost two years before he released new music.

"I was initially not able to overcome the weight as a producer of 'Gangnam Style' and couldn't release any song for the past two years. I lost interest in music and even thought of giving up making songs," said Psy (via The Korea Herald).

The YG Entertainment solo rapper was able to eventually overcome that with the release of his "7th album" in November. In one day, the video reportedly grabbed 1 million views and had a steady increase every day that lead to the current over 100 million views.

Aside from the success of the "Daddy" music video, the song itself managed to work its way into the Billboard Hot 100 at 97 on Dec. 8. Psy also managed to defeat several of the biggest K-pop boy bands during his music show promotion of the song including EXO and iKON.
