AOA's Chanmi, Yuna, and Hyejeong will unleash their charms on South Korea in a new project group.
On Wednesday, AOA's agency announced that the three girl group members will release their first album in February. FNC Entertainment expressed that the subunit is a way for the three members of the popular girl group to show off their best sides.
"The subunit will be a good chance for Chanmi, Yuna, and Hyejeong to reveal charms that have been little seen," said a FNC rep.
FNC Entertainment announced neither the subunit name nor the release date for the trio's first album.
This will be the third subunit from AOA, following AOA Black and AOA White. According to some sources, the group will be called AOA Red.
Other members of AOA, such as Jimin, Choa, Seolhyun, are well known in South Korea through a variety of other activities, but FNC has stated that the subunit will be a way to promote Hyejeong, Chanmi, and Yuna's personal talents.
All three members have been part of other subunits from the group, but will use the opportunity to raise awareness of the three as individuals from amongst the group.
Chanmi, Hyejeong, and Yuna are all members of AOA, FNC Entertainment's girl group that debuted in 2012 with "Angel's Story" and a band concept. Over the years, the girl group has transformed to become one of South Korea's most trendy girl groups, with hits like "Miniskirt, "Like A Cat," and 2015's "Heart Attack."
